This is probably my favorite recipe of all time.
I found it a couple years ago when I was looking for creative breakfast ideas for the daycare that the kids would actually eat. Not that it's a healthy breakfast by any means, but, hey....they eat it!
We have a tradition of making this on weekends. It doesn't happen every weekend, but probably at least once a month. I say WE, but I mean I. I get up early and make it on a Saturday, then we eat huge bowls of it with vanilla ice cream in our jammies.
It's SO DAMN GOOD. You have to try it.
Cinnamon Flop
-2 cups flour
-1 1/4 cup sugar
-1 1/4 cups milk
-1 teaspoon vanilla
-3 teaspoons baking powder
-1 egg
-pinch of salt
Combine all of this-just dump it onto a bowl and stir. REAL easy. Pour it into two greased and floured 8 inch pans, or a 9x13 pan.
Cover the top with:
-brown sugar. As much or little as you want
-cinnamon
-nutmeg
-1/4 cup melted butter
-You can also add nuts at this point.
Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
Smother with vanilla ice cream.
You can thank me later : )
Seriously....Try this.
